The Kiln

A year-long small circle for the deep, slow work of transformation.

What is the Kiln?

A year of the real work: the slow, deep kind, done in a small cohort.

Like a beautiful ceramic piece coming out of the kiln, you don’t find out your real color until you go through the heat.

Clay doesn't set because it understands fire. It sets because it goes through it. The Kiln is that heat: held, deliberate, survivable. A year isn't the cost of change. It's the room around it.

How it works

The Kiln runs on my 3Rs Framework™:

Recognize

See what's there, underneath the story.

Much of what drives us hides in plain sight: reactions and beliefs so old and familiar that they feel like fact. Recognizing means identifying these, without the usual story wrapped around them.

Release

Set down what was never yours to carry.

Not everything you're holding is meant to be yours: old patterns, stagnant energy, beliefs handed to you before you had any say. We work on putting these down instead of carrying them out of habit.

Repattern

Create something new, and stay with it.

Recognizing and releasing clear the ground. Repatterning is what you build there: a different way of responding, relating, or moving forward, practiced deliberately until it holds on its own.

The format

A weekly 90-minute circle on Zoom, plus an optional quarterly in-person gathering.

A sandy beach with gentle waves, a rocky cliff with sparse vegetation, and a bright blue sky overhead.

Is The Kiln right for you?

This may be for you if:

You can feel there's deeper work in you, even if you can't name it yet

You're done with surface fixes and ready for the real thing

You can commit to a year, and to a small circle who'll be counting on you

Something in you said yes before you finished reading this

It may not be for you if:

You want a quick fix

You want answers handed to you instead of made in you

You aren't willing to be vulnerable in a group that will know you for a year

The shape of the year

It starts at the center.

Put clay on the wheel off-center and you can still try to shape it — it'll just wobble and tear itself apart. Centered, it holds its form even as the wheel spins.

The early part of the year is working with your own center, and learning to keep it when the wheel speeds up: staying present to what's moving in you, sensing and shifting your own energy, coming back to steady when things get bumpy. You can change anything, anytime. It just holds when you're centered.

The 3Rs run the whole year, giving us structure without dictating a fixed order. The work falls out as it does, different every time. The weekly circle is where most of the work happens, and because the group stays small, the tools and pace flex to the people in it.

This is whole-self work: mind, body, energy, and spirit. There's a great deal to learn, and none of it stays solely in your head.

My approach

My approach depends on the person, the situation, and the goal, but it often starts with recognition: noticing the patterns, emotions, beliefs, experiences, and other influences that may be affecting how you respond.

Those influences rarely stay neatly contained in one area of life. They can show up in our relationships, choices, reactions, and how we see ourselves — often without us realizing what’s connected.

I love helping people connect dots they didn’t know were connected, clear what’s getting in the way, and see possibilities they hadn’t considered.

My training spans Eastern and Western disciplines, including Chinese Energetic Medicine, Qigong, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Mental Emotional Release (MER), Huna, and years of study in Buddhist and Christian contemplative traditions.
