My Approach
I adapt my approach to each person I work with, because everyone comes to this work from a different place and for different reasons.
Something may feel off. A situation or relationship may be draining you. You may keep reacting in ways you wish you didn't or feel stuck around a decision. You may or may not know exactly what you want to change, and that’s okay.
We start with where you are.
We talk about what you're experiencing and feeling, what you're noticing in your body, and anything else that feels relevant. We continue from there.
We may uncover a familiar pattern, an emotion that has lingered, a belief you hadn't questioned, an old experience that still has some charge, or something you may have taken on from someone else.
I love this part of the work: helping you connect dots you didn't know were connected, clear what's getting in the way, and seeing you explore possibilities you couldn't see before.
My training spans Eastern and Western traditions, including: Chinese Energetic Medicine, Qigong, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Mental Emotional Release® (MER), Huna, and years of study in Buddhist and Christian contemplative traditions.
I draw from different disciplines because we're multidimensional.
Mind, body, energy, and spirit don't operate separately, and meaningful change may require working with more than the mind alone.
The 3Rs Framework™
Recognize. Release. Repattern.™
The 3Rs Framework provides a structure for the work:
Recognize
Recognize what’s happening within you and around you.
Awareness begins with noticing differently.
Release
Release stored emotional and energetic charge.
Emotional charge drives reaction. When it shifts, space opens.
Repattern
Repattern to respond from clarity and choice rather than conditioning.
Grounded responses replace reactions. Possibilities expand.
The framework gives us a way to work with what emerges while leaving room for the person, the situation, and the work itself to be different each time.
Want to explore the 3Rs for yourself?
Modalities I draw from
The 3Rs provide the framework.
The modalities give us different ways to work within it.
What we use depends on what we're working with and what emerges. I may recommend one approach or draw from several as the work develops.
-
Chinese Energetic Medicine works with the relationship between emotions, the body, energy, and spirit.
It gives us another way to explore what may be held beyond conscious thought and work with it energetically. Depending on what emerges, this may include energetic clearing, forgiveness work, cord cutting, meditation, or other practices.
-
Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) works with Qi through movement, breath, posture, awareness, and intention.
I use Qigong in different ways — to help you ground, become more aware of your energy, move or balance energy, or simply create enough space to notice what's happening differently. Practices can also be used between sessions.
-
NLP gives us ways to work with how thoughts, language, beliefs, and unconscious patterns influence your experience.
It can help uncover connections you may not have noticed, question beliefs or assumptions you've been operating from, and open up different ways of seeing or responding to a situation.
-
Sometimes you can understand why something affects you and still feel the emotional charge around it, and MER can help us reach and shift that charge.
Mental Emotional Release® uses a structured process to work with emotions connected to past experiences without requiring you to repeatedly retell or relive the experience.
-
Huna includes practices that work with awareness, energy, intention, forgiveness, and release.
I draw from Huna particularly in forgiveness and release work, and in practices that explore the relationship between attention, intention, and energy.
-
Meditation creates space to slow down, become present, and notice what's happening without immediately reacting to it.
Attention to breath, physical sensation, and changes in the body can add another layer of information to the work — particularly when what you're experiencing isn't entirely accessible through thought or words.
-
Years of study in Buddhist and Christian contemplative traditions have shaped how I approach this work.
They have influenced my understanding of awareness, presence, inquiry, compassion, and spiritual practice. These traditions inform my perspective; they aren't a belief system I ask clients to adopt.
What we use depends on what we're working with and what emerges. I may recommend one approach or draw from several as the work develops.
